Key features :
Immersive home-cinema sound
The DRX-5.4 powers 9.2 channels and supports Dolby Atmos and DTS configurations in 5.2.4 or 7.2.2 channels. Its 11.2-channel processing and pre-out section also enable a complete 7.2.4 installation when combined with an external power amplifier.
Dolby Atmos Height Virtualization and DTS Neural can create a wider and more enveloping soundstage from conventional speaker arrangements.
High-current Integra amplification
The amplifier delivers 120 watts per channel into 8 ohms, with two channels driven. A high-capacity custom transformer, 15,000 µF capacitors, copper busbars and separate analogue and digital circuit boards provide excellent dynamics, low noise and precise control.
VLSC filtering and PLL jitter-reduction technologies contribute to a cleaner and more accurate audio signal.
THX and IMAX Enhanced certification
THX Certified Select confirms that the DRX-5.4 meets demanding performance criteria for reference-level home-cinema reproduction.
IMAX Enhanced compatibility automatically applies optimised DTS processing to compatible remastered content, preserving the dynamics and immersive presentation intended by the filmmakers.
HDMI 2.1 and 8K video
The receiver offers six rear HDMI inputs supporting video up to 8K/60 Hz and 4K/120 Hz. The front HDMI input supports video up to 4K/60 Hz.
HDR10+, Dolby Vision, HDR10, HLG and BT.2020 compatibility preserve contrast, colour and detail with suitable displays. The main HDMI output includes eARC for receiving high-resolution audio from a compatible television or projector.
Advanced gaming features
Variable Refresh Rate reduces image tearing, while Auto Low Latency Mode automatically selects a low-latency display mode. Quick Frame Transport further reduces transmission delay for smoother and more responsive gaming.
Dirac Live room correction
Dirac Live analyses the speakers and listening environment to correct acoustic irregularities across the frequency range. Calibration can be performed with the supplied wired microphone or through the Dirac Live application on a compatible computer.
Dirac Live Bass Control may be added through an optional licence for more advanced low-frequency optimisation.
Music streaming and multiroom
The DRX-5.4 supports AirPlay 2, Chromecast built-in, DTS Play-Fi and Works with Sonos integration. Compatible services include Amazon Music HD, Spotify, TIDAL, TuneIn and Deezer.
High-resolution network playback supports FLAC, WAV, AIFF and ALAC files up to 24-bit/192 kHz, as well as DSD up to 11.2 MHz.
Bidirectional Bluetooth
Bluetooth reception enables wireless playback from a smartphone or tablet. Transmission mode can send the receiver’s audio to compatible wireless headphones using SBC, aptX or aptX HD.
Klipsch Optimize Mode
Dedicated presets automatically apply suitable crossover settings for compatible Klipsch Reference and Reference Premiere speakers, simplifying configuration and integration.
Professional custom integration
The DRX-5.4 includes RS-232 control, infrared connections, three programmable 12 V triggers, web-based setup and remote-monitoring compatibility. It can also be integrated with leading automation platforms, including Control4, Crestron, Savant, URC, ELAN and RTI.
